Photographer, horse girl, dog mom, wife, mama, and probably the person who will end up talking your ear off during your session.
Welcome to Huntress Stillworks! I'm so glad you're here.
If we haven't met yet, here's a little about the girl behind the camera. I'm Michaela, and I'm a photographer with a big love for animals, the outdoors, golden-hour sunsets, and capturing the moments that make life meaningful. Give me a cowboy hat, a pair of boots, and somewhere beautiful to shoot, and I'm a happy girl.
I'm also a horse girl through and through. Horses have always held a special place in my heart, and that connection has shaped so much of who I am. Add two huskies to the mix, and you can probably imagine that my life involves a fair amount of chaos, dog hair, and stopping whatever I'm doing because there's an animal nearby.
When I'm not behind my camera, you'll usually find me spending time with my husband and little one, hanging out with my animals, or dreaming up the next creative idea. My faith is a huge part of my life, and I'm incredibly thankful for the ways God has guided me and allowed this little dream of mine to grow into something I'm proud of.
Why photography?
For me, photography has never been just about taking a pretty picture. It's about preserving a feeling.
It's the way your partner looks at you when they think nobody else is watching. The little hands wrapped around yours. The horse you've spent years building a bond with. The dog who has been by your side through every season of life. The moments that might seem ordinary today but mean absolutely everything years from now.
Those are the things I want to capture.
I photograph couples, families, weddings, horses, dogs, motocross and all the beautiful chapters in between. Whether we're chasing the last bit of sunlight in a pasture, laughing through a family session, or documenting the beginning of your next adventure, I want your photos to feel like you.
And don't worry if you're awkward in front of a camera. Seriously. You are not required to know what to do with your hands. That's what I'm here for! I'll guide you, help you feel comfortable, and make room for the genuine moments that happen when you stop worrying about posing perfectly.
